If these pillows could speak… what a story they would have to tell.
They would take us to Bengal, to rural areas.
The old sari fabrics from which they are made by the women are often decades old and have lived a whole life.
Then the parts that are still usable are sewn together with small stitches.
And if a worn spot appears again, it is repaired once more with another piece of cloth.
Always attached with small stitches of white yarn, each sewn by hand.
Often the woman make blankets in this “kantha” technique, and from those blankets these gorgeous pillows are made for us.
Sometimes a piece of cloth can consist of up to 10 thin layers of cotton!
If that's not recycling or even upcycling?!
Due to the beautiful melange of colors in each cushion, they are easy to mix with other cushions and fit effortlessly into any interior.
The front and back are often different, so you can choose which side to use.
